How to get to the Pedra Bonita ramp

Most tourists do not drive directly to the Pedra Bonita launch site. Instead, you will meet your instructor at the beach in São Conrado and ride up together.

Reaching the launch site at 520 meters is a built-in part of your flight package. The access road is narrow and uses a queuing system, so traveling with your instructor is the standard method.

Where do I meet my instructor?

You will meet your pilot at the Clube São Conrado de Voo Livre (CSCVL) headquarters on the beach.

All flights begin at this beachfront staging area. Here, you pay the mandatory R$ 120 club tax, present your ID, and sign a liability waiver before heading to the mountain.

How do we get to the top?

The drive takes roughly 15 minutes. The route goes up Estrada da Pedra Bonita. The cost of this transfer is included in your tandem flight price, which starts from R$ 750.

Can I take an Uber or taxi to the ramp?

Yes, rideshare apps and taxis can drop you off at the start of the access road.

A ride from Copacabana takes 30 to 40 minutes and costs between R$ 30 and R$ 60. Tell your driver to head to 'Acesso à Rampa de Voo Livre da Pedra Bonita'.

Unless you pay the driver to wait in the vehicle queue, you must complete a steep 10 to 15-minute walk to reach the actual summit.

Do flight operators offer hotel pickups?

Some operators provide hotel pickups from the South Zone for an additional fee.

If you stay in neighborhoods like Copacabana or Ipanema, check with your provider. Otherwise, you must arrange your own transport to the beach club in São Conrado.

Which transport method is best?

Taking an Uber to the beach club and riding with your instructor is the easiest option.

Driving directly to the ramp yourself means navigating narrow roads and limited parking. CSCVL Headquarters serves as the main hub for all visitors.

How do I reach the ramp if I am just hiking?

Take a taxi to the Pedra Bonita trailhead parking area and walk up.

The access road gets busy during high season when up to 200 tandem flights launch daily. Expect delays if arriving in a private vehicle.
